IntraDay False Breakout System

Most of the trading systems I've come across simply "piles" pre-built indicators (such as the Stochastics, RSI, CCI, etc.) on top of one another, adds some money management, and that's it. One of these indicators is the Donchain Channel (which is a channel that is used for breakouts). At first glance, the Donchain Channel indicator should be traded as a breakout -- simply buy when you cross the upper band, sell when you cross the lower. I ran across a system that uses these bands in a more unique fashion -- to predict pullbacks and rake in pips while doing so. Check out the information below to find out if this system turned out profitable or not...
Momentum EA Puts Up Shocking Numbers

Every once in a while, I have what I'd like to call a "moment of clarity". Recently, I was thinking about how to use what MetaTrader has already given us (in the way of indicators) to build a complete system with. As I was thinking about what indicators to put together to logistically create a new system, I thought to myself -- "why not make a system simply with two of the SAME indicator?". Thus, the "Momentum Cross" system was born. As it was being coded and tested by my system developers and myself, I didn't know what to expect. The results shocked me, and I felt like I just HAD to share it with all of you.
Simple Three Indicator System May Surprise You!

I heard about a system recently that involves 3 different standard indicators (that come with MetaTrader 4). This system, like many others, depends on the indicators lining up in the correct fashion to "signal" an entry. This particular system is geared more to the scalping side of trading, meaning a smaller amount of pips are
4 Bar Daily Pattern Makes For "Part Time" Trading

I was quite excited about December's "2 bar pattern" Trading Labs, which gave a result that I didn't entirely expect when taking it on. I discovered another pattern, this time on a daily chart, with some sound fundamentals to back it up. And this time, for the first time EVER, I'm going to release the
Simple Two Bar Pattern May Turn Heads...

One of the greatest ways to trade, according to some, is a method that I'm looking more into now than ever. Chart patterns happen all of the time back to back, which begs the question "Do candlestick patterns really work?". Those of you that know me know that I like to answer questions like this,
Three Bar, Inside Bar Setup...

For those of you that know me, you know that I like to trade inside bars. I believe that inside bars have an edge that can be traded to make money in the Forex market. Recently, I read an article about a setup that used inside bars. The setup looked for three higher highs, three
Support/Resistance at the Pip Level...

Lately, I have been watching the tick/pip charts on the four major pairs. I noticed that there were times when price would move to a point and then hit support or resistance and then break through to move either higher or lower. In the past I have done a lot of testing and trading using
Over Extended Bars…

The original question came to me after seeing so many large range days over the past few months. The questions was, "Is there anything we can learn/gain from these very large range days?" Now, I have done testing of this sort in the past. I once did testing on large range bars where the close
Backtesting Goofs

This month, I had an idea for a trading lab..and then immediately scratched it when this happened. This is something that I felt like I had to show you guys just as soon as I found out about it.Normally, when anybody builds a trading system or EA, the first thing they like to do is
Higher Timeframe War

This month, I've decided to focus on something that I have a long standing appreciation for. Many forex traders, no matter who they are, always have sayings that they pick up from other traders or the industry as a whole. The most popular of those sayings is...you guessed it...

Lines Scapling System

The trading system that we will be reviewing was taken from the futures market. The system is based on scalping intraday moves. The original system was modified a bit to accommodate the lack of tick charts in Meta Trader 4. The original system was traded on a 500 tick chart. I have changed this to
Moving Average Pivot Point Breakout System

The moving average pivot point breakout system takes the very common pivot point approach and gives it a twist. We took the pivot point and averaged it over three bars to get the direction of the market. If the previous session's pivot point was lower than today's session pivot, then we are looking to go

Last month, we focused on the long standing "feud" between traders reguarding what portion of a trading system is actually most important. "Exits Only", our last Trading Labs, showed that by flipping a coin on entry and exiting with a well known strategy actually produced profitable results over a longer period of time. But what about entries? Watch the video inside to know which play a bigger role in a profitable trading system!
Do Exits Make The Trading System?

The Trading Labs this month is focused around a very long standing "feud" between traders in many different types of markets...What is most important-Entries or exits? So many different explanations and arguments for each of the possibilities exist: "Entries have got to be the most important, you've just got to get in when
